Winemaker’s impressions

Officina del Vento ("Workshop of the Wind") is a Sicilian wine project founded by Italy’s only three Masters of Wine: Gabriele Gorelli, Andrea Lonardi, and Pietro Russo.

By revitalizing a one-hectare vineyard of 30-to-50-year-old Grillo vines in the Stagnone Nature Reserve, the founders aim to save abandoned land and showcase the premium potential of Marsala’s coastal terroir. This "Vineyard Manifesto" serves to inspire a new generation of winemakers to invest in Sicily’s unique landscapes.

Production

Only 4,176 bottles were produced for this debut vintage.

Winemaking

Grapes were hand-harvested in late August 2023. The wine was fermented 75% in stainless steel tanks and 25% in French oak barrels. It underwent 10 months of aging on the lees and 9 months of bottle aging.

Tasting

Characterized by strong maritime notes (iodine and saltiness), citrus aromas, and a distinct minerality derived from the lagoon environment.

We recommend serving at a temperature between 8º and 10ºC

Ideally paired with grilled fish, seafood pasta, or risotto.
